Nitrogen and PhoneGap

11.Dec.2009

Codebits is great for getting you excited about new technologies. Below are two talks presenting frameworks I would like to experiment with.

First Nitrogen, a Web Framework for developing real-time web applications. It is based on functional programming language Erlang, therefore a good reason to play with a new programming paradigm. The speaker, Sérgio Veiga, who I worked with for Stream19 has a thorough tutorial for beginners in his website.

And PhoneGap, a framework for creating cross-platform mobile applications, using web technologies. With it you can develop for the iPhone, Android, Backberry and other mobile platforms, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Check out the Brian LeRoux talk for more information.

I am excited about Erlang too. Since that talk, I am curious about the language and it's potencial. :P
