The visualization field again and again draws my attention. Everyday there’s another impressive information graphic that changes a bit how we think about a subject. This time the culprit was the Last.fm Listening History by Lee Byron. It describes what artists have you been listening to and which are more relevant, in a time axis. The visualization used was the always eye-catching ThemeRiver.

It’a a pity I can’t try it out with my own data, but maybe someone would come up with a similar service. And the printed version would really look good on one of my walls.

If you, like me, are drawn to beautiful visualizations, I recommend the FlowingData blog. It was in one of the latest posts, 5 Best Data Visualization Projects of the Year, that I found out about this project.

Why can't you try it out with your own data? Have you tried: http://lastgraph3.aeracode.org/ ?
Great! Somebody already was able to replicate it. Thanks for the notice lurst. It's just a shame it isn't as good looking as the one produced by Lee Byron...
