Textile is a lightweight markup language created with humans in mind first (not that others hadn’t but in this case you can feel it). Created by Dean Allen, it’s a very simple and straightforward language for those who just want to keep the writing flow. On the page website, you can find the complete list of rules of the markup and there’s also a quick reference. I’ll just mentioned the ones I use most and that clearly exemplifies Textile’s power.
If you want to create a link, my most common task just use the simple double quotation marks plus a colon rule:

I dig Sérgio Santos.
You can put a dot right next to the link that it won’t be add to the href field of the HTML anchor. And now some styling:
*bold* _emphasis_ -deleted- +underlined+
bold emphasis deleted underlined
* We* Love** BulletsIt really helps you getting the markup out of the away adjust keep writing. I must have in my opinion. If you want to get your hand on it right away here’s some programming language implementations:
You will that once you start using it, writing with any other markup with feel just too unproductive.
