...but who’s counting. The announcement was made on the official blog. They’re claiming there are already hundreds of millions uFs (microformats) out there. This can only be called a success and also means that we can now use them massively, since there isn’t a cold start syndrome anymore (if there ever was).

On the announcement were also presented two very recent implementations that easily exemplify the power of microformats. From Satisfaction, a consumer service platform, we have the first hCard profile import. It uses your contact information from several popular services like Twitter and Technorati to import some (still little) information and fill come fields of the register form.

The other implementation and the more helpful and powerful one is from Dropplr a still beta and invite only (anyone got an invitation for me?) platform for tracking where are your friends traveling to. Its implementation allows you to import your friends/contacts list from every place with your hCard contact list and your XFN relationships to them. This feature still wasn’t released even for beta testers, but you can see an example result here.

With all these new services coming up, I can only hope I get time soon to start implementing my own ideas.
