Today was released the seventh version of the Fedora distribution, codename Moonshine. The biggest difference from the previous version is that the Core repository has been merged with the Extras. Another important feature is the ability to create spins, which is a customized version of the operating system, where you can manage the packages you want to have in your DVD. This enables users to create infinite versions of Fedora 7, using a tool named Pungi. You can also find in Moonshine the latest version of Gnome (2.18). Check here to get it.

I’ve used the fifth and sixth versions of Fedora Core for about an year and a half. Lately I’ve switched back to Windows XP but I’ll be sure to try out Moonshine. Maybe this time I’ll turn back to the blue side.
