So TakeOff ended and I can only say that it was simply great. We had the place filled from the start of the event, a surprising thing since it was Saturday morning, and people just kept coming until late that evening. At the Gonçalo Quadros’ presentation the event reached it’s biggest moment, with all the 150 seats taken and even some people seated at the stairs, all listening to the founder and actual CEO of Critical Software’s words. The others presentations were also very good and except for some troublesome discussions in the most controversial presentations and some delays, the organization went very smoothly.
I have to thank Fábio for helping out me and Alcides with the preparations. And I also have to thank all the speakers which were also very friendly and helpful to us. It really makes all the trouble of organizing some event like this much more easy.
And there’s nothing like the socialization between all the conferences. At lunch we gathered a great group of people, some that I already knew from barcamp, and others that I get to know and that I really enjoyed talking to like João Carvalho from Palco Principal, Armando Alves from DraftFCB and Ricardo Mestre from bighelga.com. At dinner we were ten folks rambling about our previous experiences with work and projects, and also about some talks of the event.
Now we’re trying to gather and assemble the sound recorded and presentations from the conferences, since we have already people asking for them. We’ll try to be quick. In the end of the event I ended up saying “See you next year” so I guess we have no choice now unless to do TakeOff’08.
For more information about the event there is a post at ideias3 (in Portuguese), several information and reviews on several blogs and photos at Flickr.
