Delicious director

Even though I really enjoy del.icio.us simplicity when it comes to managing my bookmarks, some aspect of the service need some improvement. Roaming through my bookmarks it’s still a bit painful (iterating pages, combining tags…) and the portal seems to be having some speed problems. My flock plugin (still waiting for the version with firefox 2) it’s not one of the fastest or most usable either. While the creators are surely working on improving the user experience, surveys is one example, I’ve found one approach using AJAX and delicious API.

del.icio.us direc.tor is the name of the application and I can only say that it works very good for me. Amazingly fast, it allows you to roam through your tags, filtering all your bookmarks instantaneously, while highlighting the selections. Search is also in real time, with the keyword highlighted in the results. Unfortunately, there is a sort of hack required to run this application and the login information is always prompted. But this is something the delicious team should look into.
